Presidential Scholarship (Spring 2006)

- Awarded to a select and small number of students who agree to take on a project with a faculty mentor and produce the results or an in-progress report of the results after the duration of one year. The scholarship is renewable, and is disbursed once a semester (twice a year). The scholarship also includes priority scheduling and a discount at the student bookstore.
Governor’s Distinguished Mathematics and Science Scholars Award (2002)
George Washington High School, San Francisco, CA
- From the California Governor's Scholars website: "The Governor's Distinguished Mathematics and Science Scholars Award ("Governor's Math and Science Award") provided a one-time $2,500 scholarship for public high school students who, in addition to receiving the Governor's Scholars Award, attained required scores before December 31, 2002 on […] the Golden State Exams (GSE)."

Governor's Scholars Award (2001)

- From the California Governor's Scholars Awards website: "A Governor's Scholars Award may have been earned in 9th, 10th and/or 11th grades. A student must have taken all the authorized exams and earned scores in: the top five percent of public school students in their grade level, or the top ten percent of students in their grade level at their public, junior high or comprehensive high school."

Cadet of the Month (Fall 2000)
George Washington High School JROTC – Delta Company, San Francisco, CA
- Awarded to a single non-commissioned officer (cadet private to cadet sergeant) student among the battalion (all six class sessions, or companies) of the JROTC program at George Washington High.
- Performance is graded by battalion staff members (typically junior and seniors who have been in the program and hold a higher rank), who judge marching/drill performance, knowledge of the JROTC program and ethics (such as the 14 Leadership Traits, the motto of the program, or information taught in class, such as topographical map reading, the effects of drug use, and so on), and neatness of appearance.

- Participated in the Summer 2001 J.H. Pendleton Youth Leadership Conference at the Marine Corps. Recruiting Depot in Oceanside, CA,
- Acted as a Trainer at the Spring 2000 Encampment at Camp Parks in Dublin, CA
- Led and marched with squads and platoons in citywide parades, such as the annual Veteran's Day parade.
- Assisted with fundraisers and community service time, such as working at the AIDS Memorial Garden and volunteering at the Edgewood Children's Center), and staging canned food drives to benefit the San Francisco Food Bank.
- Received an award as a participant of the winning exhibition Drill Team during Fall Competition
- Recognized for completing the core requirements in the annual spring Physical Training excercises (which include a rigorous daily workout meant to meet and exceed U.S. presidential standards).
- Led a platoon of students during the 2000-2001 school year in the Delta Company class period.
- Acted as Public Relations staff officer (S-5) for one semester (Fall 2001) and participated in staff/officer events, including judging the Cadet of the Month competition.
